When I was a child, there were only two career options I considered: a pilot or an interior designer. My first experience in the cockpit of a Cessna at the age of 16 made me realise I really didn't have the stomach for flying, so you could say from the sky I fell straight into interior design!

Since then I've designed countless stunning interiors, from sleek and modern, to traditional, decadent and luxurious.

When it comes to designing there are three crucial aspects that I always keep in mind.

• Design has to have longevity. In this throw-away age we all have a responsibility to choose quality and timeless design, so we're not replacing items over and again

• A sense of home. I work with clients to realise their dream home - not my own! I love getting to know my clients so that we can create spaces that truly represent them and incorporate their cherished items, all the while considering the surrounding architecture.

• Elegance, always. Every space I design has the mark of discerning sophistication.
